February is in the books and what a busy month it was! Now fully settled into our brand-new workshop, we spent the month designing and building many truck bodies but this Volvo project has to be our favourite.
Built to last and built to perform, this truck tray brings together a unique selection of custom features designed to maximise our client’s productivity, including a modified chassis, heavy plate flooring and custom tray steps.
DESIGNING THE MID-MOUNT CRANE TRAY
Before beginning work on this truck, we took the time to consult with our client and understand the jobs they would be completing on a daily basis to make sure that we were creating the perfect truck tray to suit their business.
For our expert team of engineers, this meant piecing together a tray that included a mid mount crane and custom sides – a special feature allowing our client to get their work done more efficiently.
To ensure this tray could handle the load of a crane, a chassis modification was performed and heavy duty chequered plate floors were used. All chassis modifications are performed in line with manufacturer instructions so you can rest assured knowing the work completed on your truck has been conducted to the highest standard.
For the long journeys ahead, this build was not complete without an additional steel alloy oil tank, skilfully fitted onto the side of the tray.
Finishing Touches
With a two-pack paint finish, this truck left our workshop with a clean and professional look that’s going to last.
Our final step was adding some steps! Tailored to our client’s requirements, we built in steps to the side of this tray facilitating safe and easy access to the tray for their team. It’s features like this that we take pride in, knowing it makes for a smoother, more productive workday.
