2023 might be coming to a close, but the action hasn’t slowed down at AA Diesel Truck Bodies, with our team busy building out a number of truck bodies, trailers, and trays for clients in November! It’s been our busiest year yet, but our commitment to quality doesn’t waver, as evidenced in this Fuso Tipper build we completed for an Adelaide-based client, Ultra Excavations!
They came to us after hearing about our fantastic reputation for building the highest quality tipper bodies, requiring a custom build for their new Fuso truck. Needing a body 4.8m long by 1m high, this would be one of our bigger tipper builds but nothing we hadn’t seen before, with our team eager to get this new custom Fuso tipper build underway.
DESIGNING THE TIPPER BODY
The first step in every truck body build is to meet with the client to discuss exactly what they need. This is no different for our interstate clients, with our engineering team able to plan the build over a phone call or video chat with these customers to find out what they want to be able to do with their new or used trucks.
For Ultra Excavations, we knew that they would be needing to carry around heavy machinery wherever they go, along with being able to move around materials from collection depots to worksites. Once we met their team, we got straight to work, building out a Hardox-wear steel tipper body to ensure a durable product for all of the heavy work they would be doing. We also knew that they would likely want to cart around a trailer for more equipment on bigger jobs, which is why we installed a Rockinger tow coupling that would allow them to easily connect a trailer to their pristine white Fuso tipper.
It can be tough knowing exactly how much weight you have on the back of your tipper, especially when you’re carrying mismatching heavy-duty equipment on site as well as tools, parts, and building materials. To make this easier for Ultra Excavations, we also installed a Bluetooth weight scale, allowing them to quickly determine how much weight they are carrying at any point and add or subtract more to ensure they can drive it around.
But the special features don’t end there!
Finishing Off The Custom Fuso Tipper With Special Features
We know how hard work can be in the construction industry, which is why we always aim to add special features to each build to ensure our client’s team have the resources on hand to make their lives easier. That’s exactly why we installed the aforementioned Bluetooth weight scale, and also why we installed an electric tarp for the top of their tipper body, saving their team time while they load and unload materials on site.
Complementing this tipper body is a custom-designed toolbox sitting right behind the truck’s cab. The 700mm wide x 2200mm long x 1000mm high toolbox sits perfectly on the tipper body and gives their team easy access to what they need on each job, professionally powder-coated by our team to match with the existing Fuso white paint job.
To complete this tool box build, we also installed gas struts, seals and compression T-locks on the toolbox doors, adding to the strength, durability, and functionality of this custom Fuso tipper. Another amazing Fuso tipper we’ve seen roll through our doors, our engineering team can’t be happier with the result, and neither can Ultra Excavations. Thanks for choosing AA Diesel, guys, we can’t wait to see you again as your business continues to grow.
