We’ve brought in the New Year in style here at AA Diesel, moving to our new Dandenong South factory and kicking things off with this UD Croner with a Drop-Side Tipping Tray! Our new location at 58-62 Edison Road will allow us to build more truck bodies than ever before, all created with the same premium quality you’ll see in this build.
Sometimes you don’t need a huge tipper or a crane tray truck; you just need an efficient truck tray that allows you to get in quick and get the job done. That’s exactly what we created for this client, fitting it out with a drop-side tray that helped them worker smarter, not harder.
DESIGNING THE DROP-SIDE TRUCK TRAY
Learning about each truck’s daily operations is an important step in our build process, and having a client with a clear vision for what they want out of their truck makes things even easier.
After meeting with the customer and understanding their business needs our truck body builders got to work, drafting up plans to install a drop-side tipping tray with the following features:
- A 6.0m long tray with drop-side gates
- 5mm Hardox-ware steel plating floor
- Removable centre posts on tray
Building truck trays is one of our specialities at AA Diesel, and we offer a wide range of trays to help you on the road. From our beavertail trays to flat top trays to our drop-side trays, we can create the tray you’ve got in mind with the features your business needs.
INSTALLING THE TRUCK TRAY
As with all of our truck trays this installation included a heavy duty 125mm RHS subframe, cross bearers spaced 350mm apart to avoid bowing, a 100mm PFC coaming rail, and are pre-cambered to avoid sagging. This gives each of our clients piece of mind, knowing that our custom builds are constructed to last.
With that foundation set our team installed the Hardox-ware steel flooring, ensuring a tough base to load whatever our client needed. We then put on the drop-side gates and installed the removable centre posts that will allow client to work quicker on the road no matter what they’re carrying.
While this tray was a 6.0m beauty, we can work with your specific truck type and requirements to maximise the capacity of your truck tray. We can often increase this capacity without needing to perform a wheelbase extension. We can also install any special features that you’d like on your truck, from stow away ladders to custom toolboxes to whatever trailer coupling you need.
One of the many summer jobs we’ve completed, the work doesn’t stop here at AA Diesel! If you’re ready to install a new truck tray or looking to complete a new truck body build, get in touch with out team today and we’ll help your vision come to life.
