It has been a busy start to 2021, and at AA Diesel Truck Bodies we continued to work on a number of projects throughout the month. This includes tipper truck bodies, truck trays, truck trailers, wheelbase modifications, and custom builds.
One of our standout projects from January was building our largest ever 4 axle PBS trailer to date for a Kenworth.
Before we construct each truck body, we take the time to consult with our clients, ensuring that the truck body is designed and built to suit their specific requirements. This ensures that they are well-equipped for the types of jobs they will be doing on a daily basis.
After extensive discussions with the client and taking additional time to plan, we were able to achieve a combined truck and trailer length of just under 19 metres. To maximise the overall payload, the tipper had a 4.5 metre long x 1.1 metre high body. In addition, the trailer body was then added, which included a 7.7 metres long x 1.1m high bin.
Due to the careful planning design, and after a very thorough PBS inspection, it was deemed that the combination we built for this Kenworth could be used with a GCM exceeding 50 tonnes. The PBS approval is still being processed so we are still waiting on final figures.
Being such an amazing project, we also spent quite a bit of time discussing colour choices and finish options. The owner advised that blue pinstripes were being added to the truck, and together, we came up with the idea to match the tarps on the tipper and trailer to the blue pinstripe.
The trailer was also fitted with polished alloy rims, AAD signature stainless steel strips on the splash guards and our chosen chrome side markers to really make this combination stand out.
