Truck Bodies April
In April at AA Diesel Truck Bodies, the number of enquiries and truck body projects did not seem to slow down at all, with major infrastructure works and smaller jobs continuing across Victoria and the rest of the country. As a result, we delivered a number of truck tray bodies to clients across Victoria and interstate this month.
Amongst the truck trays we delivered, one of the standouts was a beavertail tray for a HINO 4×2.
Consultations and planning
Before building each truck body, we always take time to consult with our clients, making sure that each truck tray is built to their individual and specific needs, and specialised for the types of work they do on a daily basis.
Wheelbase Extension / Chassis Stretch
For this job, we first performed a wheelbase modification according to the HINO manufacturer instructions, pressed the new chassis, and double skinned it for long term durability. We then adjusted the tail shafts, triple checked all the driveline angles and carefully extended all of the intricate electronics and pneumatic lines. This was followed by professional in-house painting to match the existing chassis colour, and inspection by our in-house engineer who happily issued a VASS certificate of compliance.
Beavertail Tray
We then installed a 6.5 meter beavertail tray, with a heavy duty chequer plate floor, two hydraulic pumps, and tie down rails. Each and every truck tray we make, including this beavertail tray, feature a heavy duty 125mm RHS sub-frame, cross bearers spaced 350mm apart to avoid bowing and 100mm PFC coaming rail. All of our truck trays are pre-cambered to avoid any potential sagging in future and are built using high quality materials made in-house using our specialised machinery.
