This year has been one of the busiest we’ve had in our 25-year history of truck building, with our team completing some huge jobs in September, including this impressive 9M Fuso Beavertail Tray. We’ve created a multitude of new truck bodies for Fuso Shoguns recently, from tippers to truck trays, and this Fuso tray met the high standards set by those builds.
When we met with our client for this job, they told us they wanted to maximise the amount of tray space for their Fuso Shogun, ensuring that they would be able to carry heavy equipment and large material loads simultaneously if needed. This truck would be utilised for a large volume of jobs throughout the week, so it needed to be not only functional but also robust enough to keep up with the demanding needs of our client’s work. Our talented truck engineering team were more than ready to meet this challenge, planning out a build that would utilise premium parts and materials for guaranteed durability on the road.
Designing The 9M Fuso Beavertail Tray
Beavertail trays are a frequently requested build here at AA Diesel, with our team experienced in designing trays that meet the needs of our clients. One of the great advantages of beavertail trays is the ability to drive machinery and equipment directly onto the tray, eliminating the need for manual labour or additional equipment like cranes or forklifts. To meet the needs of this specific client, we installed a 7.5m truck tray deck with hardened chequer plate steel flooring, allowing them to maximise the total capacity of their truck. Once extended, this 9m Fuso Beavertail Tray allows for the quick deployment of equipment on-site and even easier delivery of materials, enabling our client to complete the work faster and with greater efficiency.
Our beavertail trays also feature custom hydraulics, allowing for the easy deployment of the beavertail ramp. At the push of a button, this ramp can be quickly deployed and raised, adding extra flexibility for the truck’s owner where needed. This type of added functionality may seem like a small aspect at first but can save a significant amount of time in the long run. We aim to add quality-of-life aspects like this to every AA Diesel build, making our clients’ workdays much easier and helping to boost the productivity of their vehicles and businesses.
Now that we had this custom 9M beavertail tray installed, it was time to look at some additional special features for this Fuso Shogun, further assisting our client with the custom touches they needed to get the job done.
Finishing Touches
Clients keep coming back for that AA Diesel edge when we build a custom truck body for their business. Our team always takes time to assess the full needs of each vehicle that comes through our doors, recommending features that many owner-drivers hadn’t thought about or weren’t aware were available from a truck body builder. For this build, one of the requirements was clear: our client needed to transport a wide variety of tools from site to site, with storage required somewhere on the body.
We build custom toolboxes for each job completely in-house, allowing us to place them where needed on the build. For this job, we created a custom undertray toolbox, easily accessible with plenty of storage room for our client. Every toolbox we make is crafted from durable stainless steel that can withstand impacts and the wear and tear of the worksite each day.
To support the large truck tray we installed, we fitted load binders on the track, allowing our client to quickly secure whatever they were transporting each day. Our talented engineering team can also install custom supports and cages for trays like this one, meeting the needs of our clients directly with the options they require.
Finally, after a hard day of work on-site, sometimes you need to clean up quickly and rinse off dirt or grime before you meet the next customer or client. That’s why we installed a handwash station on this truck tray, helping our client’s team to stay clean on-site and improving the everyday driving experience. No more marks or grease stains on the truck wheel or in the cabin!
Our team loves recommending custom features to our clients, with many truck owners unaware of all the options available to them inside the AA Diesel factory. From custom paintwork and decals to custom caging and cranes, our team actively works with each client to ensure they get the most out of their truck with features that make their vehicle stand out from the pack.
Overall, another successful custom beavertail tray build for a very happy AA Diesel client! We love building trays for Fuso Shoguns like this, a reliable beast that we know will last long into the future with the terrific tray build our team put together.
