The new financial year always brings in a ton of new clients looking for new bodies and this July was no exception, delivering several big projects including this Fuso Beavertail Tray build! Our team were thrilled to take on this build as they love working with Fuso trucks, one of the most reliable brands on the market.
The first step in any truck body build is to undertake a thorough consultation process, assessing exactly what our client needs from the truck and providing recommendations that will fulfil those needs. For this Fuso Beavertail Tray, we decided that a 9m long beavertail tray was needed with extra support to give the truck additional security when handling heavy machinery. With this build in mind our team got to work, designing a tray that will help this Fuso Shogun deliver out on the road.
Designing The Fuso Beavertail Tray
Another crucial initial step in the truck body building process is adjusting the truck’s wheelbase to ensure whatever body is being fitted has a strong foundation. Wheelbase modifications are one of our most requested services, and we take pride in our ability to both meet client expectations and deliver an outstanding result for each truck that comes in. We do everything ourselves in-house from start to finish, using our very own expert qualified engineer, and all under one VASS certificate.
With the truck’s foundation all ready to go our team got to work on installing the truck tray, a 9m long beavertail tray with a 7.5m tray deck to park both heavy duty equipment and resources. One of the key elements of this tray is the heavy duty droplegs that support the beavertail tray, preventing any movement of the truck when driving heavy items on to the tray and providing extra security for both those operating the machinery and the tray itself. The hydraulics on this beavertail tray will also make life a whole lot easier for the truck’s owners, easily deployed at the touch of a button to allow them to quickly move on from site-to-site.
With the custom beavertail tray installed and ready to go on this Fuso Shogun it was time to move on to our favourite part of each build: the special features!
Finishing Touches
Our team love recommending custom features to our clients, with many truck owners unaware of all the options available to them inside the AA Diesel factory. From custom paintwork and decals to custom caging and cranes, our team actively works with each client to ensure they get the most out of their truck with features that make their vehicle stand out from the pack.
For this Fuso Shogun build, our team installed a 1200mm toolbox underneath the truck tray, allowing the truck owner to carry around whatever they needed from site-to-site, made out of durable stainless steel that is installed in-house by our truck engineers. We also installed shovel holders on the headboard of the truck body, a custom touch requested by our client that our team was more than happy to make happen.
Finally, to add extra security to their Fuso Beavertail Tray, we installed load binders under the tray track, allowing them to quickly and easily secure their load and get out to more clients, faster. All in all, this was another successful build for our team and one we are sure our clients will love long into the future. Building trays like this for great clients is why we love what we do, and we can’t wait to continue building them for many years to come!
