2025 was an incredibly busy and rewarding year for AA Diesel, filled with exciting custom builds that push the boundaries of functionality and durability. One standout project was the creation of this 7.9M Custom Isuzu Beavertail Tray for Geelong Isuzu. This build was designed to meet the demanding needs of their operations, combining a sleek design with robust features that ensure long-term reliability.
Geelong Isuzu reached out to us late last year wanting to get this build to their client before 2024 ended and our team delivered, creating a functional and durable truck tray that will last long into the future. The process for all of our builds starts with an in-depth consultation, and once we had their complete requirements for this tray our team got straight to work, planning out what would be another successful AA Diesel build.
Designing the 7.9M Custom Isuzu Beavertail Tray
The design process started with the client’s key requirements: a tray that could accommodate a range of heavy equipment while being practical and efficient in everyday use. The 7.9M overall length tray installation was carefully planned and includes a 6500mm flat deck and a 1000mm beavertail section. This configuration provided ample space for equipment and materials, while the beavertail design allowed for seamless loading and unloading.
To further streamline on-site operations, we equipped the tray with a full-width single mesh ramp, enabling easy access for machinery and heavy loads. The ramp’s sturdy mesh construction ensures longevity and reliability, even with frequent use, while its full-width design accommodates a variety of equipment sizes.

- Custom Under-Body Toolbox
A 1200 x 450 x 450mm under-body toolbox was crafted in-house from durable stainless steel. Positioned for easy access, this toolbox provides secure storage for tools and equipment, helping to keep the flat deck clear and organised. - Integrated Tie-Down Points
The tray features eight tie-down points embedded in the floor, giving the client the flexibility to secure loads of varying sizes and weights. These tie-downs ensure the safe transport of materials and equipment, even under demanding conditions. - Precision Matched Paintwork
To give the truck a professional and cohesive appearance, the tray was painted in white, spectro-matched to the cab’s colour. This attention to detail ensures a seamless finish, making the truck stand out both on the road and at job sites.
