The AA Diesel brand is stretching across the Nullarbor plain, with our engineering team completing this custom MAN tipper for a Western Australia-based client in May! After checking out our terrific work for another WA-based customer, this Perth-area client reached out to us wanting our team to transform their new MAN TGS truck into a tipper that would make their work a whole lot easier.
Our talented truck building team were more than happy to take this job, consulting with the client from interstate and assessing exactly what they needed for this tipper build. After talking with our WA-based customer, it was decided that this truck needed a 4500mm wide x 1050mm high tipper body that would maximise the truck’s capacity and allow them to carry whatever they needed from site-to-site. We included several special features to make this shine out on the Western Australian roads and we have to say, both our team and our client were very happy with the outcome of this custom MAN tipper build!
DESIGNING THE tipper body
As stated above, we went through a detailed consultation process with this client, with interstate time differences and distances no longer an obstacle in 2024! Consulting with our clients is always an incredibly important step in the truck building process, helping our team understand exactly what work the truck will be being utilised for and allowing us to build a body that suits those needs. With a large capacity 4500mm wide x 1050mm wide required for their daily tasks, our team quickly got to work, fabricating the full build in-house with premium parts to ensure a long-lasting result for our client.
Part of this work was also the installation of a 1150mm high tailgate and manual rollback tarp, allowing them to quickly secure their load, prepare for delivery and utilise their tipper’s hydraulics to make a precision delivery of materials. All of our AA Diesel Truck Bodies come with JOST hydraulics, setup the way you want your truck to operate. While this is a rear tipper build, our team can setup your truck to be a side tipper, three-way tipper or even an ejector tipper, giving you the flexibility you need on site.
Installing this truck body allowed us to maximise the capacity of this MAN TGS tipper, increasing its efficiency and helping our client get their work done faster. But the special features for this custom MAN tipper don’t end there! Read on to learn more about how we customised this truck to ensure our client had everything they needed driving around WA.
CUSTOM MAN TIPPER FEATURES
With the truck body installed on the tipper it was time to ensure that our client had the full functionality for this MAN TGS truck that they needed when it was taken to Western Australia. A core part of the consultation process is identifying areas where the client’s vision for the truck can be improved, with many not fully aware of all the options we have available when building a tipper truck body for their vehicle.
While they had a large capacity truck body with a secure tailgate and rollback tarp, our team identified a need to provide options for securing extra large loads. That’s why we installed tiepoints inside the truck body, allowing them to secure excavators and other heavy machinery if needed on site.
On the back of the truck we installed a PH300 pintlehook, allowing them to add to the capacity of their setup and tow whatever they want with the custom Man tipper truck. To top things off, we also installed a 15L handwash station under the truck body, allowing their hard-working team to washup after those big days on site. Touches like this, which may seem simple at first, can really add to the efficiency of the truck and make the lives of your drivers and team so much easier.
Another successful tipper build, delivered with the exact custom features our client needed. Once we finished this custom MAN tipper our client actually came over to the AA Diesel factory, picking the truck up and driving it across the Nullarbor back to WA. Would have been a fantastic (and long!) drive, we’re glad that the AA Diesel brand is continuing to spread even further cross-country with some very happy customers to boot!
