Truck Bodies Delivered Across the State
In the month of May we delivered a large number of tipper bodies to clients all around Victoria and interstate. We spent a lot of time on tipper conversions and one of our highlight projects for the month involved converting a number of ex fleet Freightliner prime movers into tipper trucks.
Tipper Body Consultations
Before we build each tipper body, we consult extensively with our clients to ensure that our truck bodies are built to suit their exact specifications and requirements. This ensures that they are well-equipped for the types of jobs they will be doing on a daily basis.
Wheelbase Extensions and Tipper Conversions
After thoroughly discussing the project with our client, we determined that due to the standard size of these particular prime movers, the chassis of each truck would need to be extended to in order to maximise the capacity of the tipper bodies.
We performed all of the work required for the conversions in-house including both the wheelbase extensions and the fabrication of the new tipper bodies. We extended each wheelbase by 600mm, including the lengthening of all tail shafts, pneumatic airlines and electrical components as well as double lining the chassis to maximise reinforcement. We meticulously checked all the driveline angles to ensure long term durability. All of the wheelbase extensions were then inspected by our in-house engineer who issued a VASS certificate of compliance.
After the conversions, it was time to build and fabricate the tipper bodies. For each tipper body, we were able to achieve a 4500mm long body and 1000mm high sides, resulting in a total capacity of 10m3.
The Freightliners were then fitted with towing assemblies and electric tarps. To finish things off, we added AAD signature stainless steel strips on the splash guards with our chosen chrome side markers, as well as a custom paint finish.
