Custom Tipping Tray
Coming up to end of financial year, April was a very busy month here at AA Diesel Truck Bodies, as we went about finishing off a variety of tippers, trays and trailers. One of our favourite jobs for the month was a Custom UD Split Tipping Tray for one of our hardware and building supplies clients. The team was really excited to get to work on this truck body project and have it ready for our client, so they can get back on the road as soon as possible.
Truck Body Consultation and Design
This project required a lot of careful planning to ensure that it was specifically designed and built to the specific needs and requirements of the client. We took lots of time to consult with the business about the kinds of jobs they would be completing on a daily basis, as well as any other requirements they needed. This allowed us to design the specifications of this truck body to suit their exact needs.
Building and Fabricating the Tipping Tray
After extensively consulting, we identified that transporting sheets of reinforcement was a key requirement for this tipping tray, alongside carrying palettes of concrete. We designed and built a split tipping tray to easily fit the reinforcement sheets and a front fixed section to accommodate for pallets of concrete. To ensure the stability of the tray and ensure longevity in the long term, the truck was fitted with high quality hydraulic components including twin underbody cylinders.
To finish off, the tray was fitted with a heavy duty 5mm chequer plate floor, full length tie down rails and under tray load binders. All our truck trays include a heavy duty 125mm RHS subframe, cross bearers spaced 350mm apart to avoid bowing, a 100mm PFC coaming rail, and are pre-cambered to avoid sagging.
