March was a busy month for us here at AA Diesel Truck Bodies, building numerous truck bodies throughout the month, including prime mover conversions, tipper trucks, beavertail trays, trailer combinations, and chassis extensions.
One of the highlights this month was working on a twin steer UD featuring a custom tipper body, pull out tarp and toolbox. This was the first twin steer UD we had through the doors here, and the customer has been a long term client of AA Diesel Truck Bodies, so the crew was excited to get started on this project and get him on the road as quickly as possible.
Before we build each tipper body, we always take time to talk to our clients about the types of jobs they will be doing on a daily basis and their preferences. This allows us to tailor each truck body to their specific business needs, so that they can be as productive and efficient as possible, in everything they do.
After some careful planning, we were able to fit the twin steer UD with a 6-metre long tipper body, with 950mm high sides. A heavy-duty front mount hoist was fitted to ensure smooth performance when tipping product. All of our tipper bodies are made from Hardox Wear Plate steel, which provides long lasting durability in tough Australian transport conditions. Each tipper body is custom built in-house using the highest quality materials and our specialised machinery.
We also added a list of special features to this truck body. A custom built, retractable pull out tarp system was fitted to the tipper. We fitted a custom made, lockable, steel toolbox between the cabin of the truck and the tipper body, ideal for securely storing tools and equipment. Finally, at the rear of the cabin, we added a compact JOST oil tank.
