October was a crazy busy month at AA Diesel Truck Bodies, with 25+ truck bodies delivered in total to clients across Victoria, and nationally. These included tippers bodies, beavertail trays, and a few custom truck body jobs as well.
Apart from custom truck body builds, we also offer and are capable of specialised hydraulic systems for prime movers. In October, we completed and delivered two semi tipper hydraulic installations, including one for Daimler HQ Australia.
A couple of months ago, Daimler HQ approached us to fit one of their brand new Freightliner Cascadia models with a hydraulic system so it could be used as a working demo for dealerships across Australia. We were really keen to work on this truck, as it is a new model that was only recently launched in the Australian market.
Given this would be used as a working demo, we took extra care to ensure we minimise the visual impact of any auxiliary aftermarket parts. The PTO on this application was a very tight fit between gearbox, tailshaft and exhaust, so extra care was needed for protection and routing of hoses to a JOST high flow semi tipper directional valve, which was mounted in a convenient chassis mounted position, along with pressure and return lines fixed to a low profile frame. This allowed for a clean finish without having hydraulic hoses rolled up and left on the chequer plate chassis cover.
As this is a new model truck, we worked very closely with Daimler to integrate hydraulic controls into the truck dashboard and computer system, so that the hydraulics could easily be controlled by the driver from the cabin.
The finished product presented beautifully. The AA DIesel Truck Bodies hydraulic system has added even more value and capability to what is already a visually and mechanically amazing truck.
