Instant Asset Write Off Extended
The government’s Instant Asset Write Off scheme of $150,000 per asset resulted in a boom for the truck bodies industry throughout the last few months. In particular, with everyone wanting to have their projects completed by June 30 (before the deadline was extended to 31 December 2020), it was one of the busiest months we have ever had at AA Diesel Truck Bodies.
In June, we completed 32 jobs in total, delivering them to our highly satisfied clients across Victoria, and sending some interstate as well. Of these jobs, there were 28 tipper bodies. The size of the tippers varied from small underbody 800mm high sides to 1200mm high. We also had a range of different lengths, varying from 3.8m to 4.8m long.
All of our tipper bodies are made from Hardox Wear Plate steel, which provides ultimate durability in any conditions, and each tipper body is custom built in-house using our specialised machinery.
In addition to all of the tippers rolled out in June, we also delivered 4 beavertail trays. The longest beavertail had a 9.2m total length fitted with 12.5 tonne rated twin hydraulic ramps, a well as 8 tie down points in the tray and a pair of 1200mm undermount toolboxes.
Our beavertails feature a heavy duty 125mm RHS sub-frame, cross bearers spaced 350mm apart to avoid bowing and 100mm PFC coaming rail. They are pre-cambered to avoid any potential sagging in future and are built using high quality materials made in-house using our specialised machinery.
