UD Quon Truck Conversion
Amongst the tipper truck bodies we delivered in April, one of our most interesting custom jobs was this Hardox tipper and shelving combination for a UD Quon.
Before we build each tipper truck body, we first take some time to consult with our clients, ensuring that each tipper is built to their individual needs and requirements, and specified for the types of work and jobs they do on a day to day basis.
Wheelbase Extension / Chassis Stretch
For this job, we first performed a wheelbase extension according to the UD manufacturer instructions, pressed the new chassis, and double skinned it for long term durability. We adjusted the tail shafts, methodically checked all of the driveline angles and painstakingly extended all of the intricate electronics and pneumatic lines. This was followed by professional in-house painting to match the existing chassis colour, and inspection by our in-house engineer who issued a VASS certificate of compliance.
Hardox Tipper Body, Wind Out Tarp and Toolbox
We then built and fabricated the custom tipper body. In this case, we also built and installed a one meter high toolbox behind the cabin. The toolbox was fitted out with shelving and accessible through doors on either side of the truck body. We also added a stowable fold out step ladder on both sides of the truck, which fit nicely under the toolbox area. Finally, we finished off the job with a custom built wind out tarp,
Each and every tipper truck body we make, including this one, is built using Hardox wear resistant steel for the ultimate durability, toughness and longevity in the harsh Australian transport conditions. All of our tipper bodies, toolboxes and other truck body components are always built using the highest quality materials made in-house using our specialised machinery.
